Susie Debice Bsc Hons, Dip ION, is a fully qualified Food Scientist, Nutritional Therapist and Massage Therapist with 20 years experience working as a practitioner, teacher and body worker. Susie has helped hundreds of clients achieve their health goals with her personalised health plans which combine healthy eating advice with specific nutritional supplements and restorative massage and body work. Since 1999 Susie has worked at a number of natural health clinics based in London (Food Dr Clinic, Harley Street), Brighton (Dyke Road Natural Health Clinic) and Lewes (he River Clinic). Before your initial appointment you'll be asked to complete a quick Health Questionnaire, Food Diaryand Diet Analysis form. During your initial appointment Susie discusses your health history, current symptoms, health goals, food likes and dislikes, cooking ability, available time for food prep, lifestyle habits and preferred supermarket or food shops. Taking all this information into account Susie reflects on any suspected nutrient deficiencies, dietary imbalances and body systems that require supportand creates your Personalised Nutrition Report. You'll receive suggested dietary changes, meal ideas, shopping list essentials, lifestyle tips and a specific nutritional supplement programme - all carefully designed to help alleviate symptoms, nourish your body and revitalise your well-being. Susie's aim is to make your journey towards better health as practical, realistic, stress-free and enjoyable as possible, working at a pace that suits your lifestyle and ability, while offering you support and encouragement along the way.
While nutrition can help nourish the body and mind Susie believes that there is a level of physical impact created by your pace of life, exposure to stress, emotional upheaval, postural alignment, level of physical activity and quality of sleep which create collection points of physical tension and discomfort that influence your mood, energy, hormone balance, digestion, mobility and sense of well-being. These physical imbalances can only really be reached, soothed, unlocked and released through quality body work such as massage. Regular massage helps to restore balance to many body systems and melt away the aches, pains and niggles that accumulate during your normal day-to-day living experience, which if left unattended, build-up to become much harder to resolve. Susie has over 10 years experience as a Massage Therapist and uses a combination of Swedish massage techniques, heated basalt massage stones from Arizona and energy balancing to release stress, toxicity and tension from muscles, body tissues and pressure points.
Nutrition and massage form a strong framework for helping the body maintain hormone balance and keeping symptoms of premenstrual syndrome, perimenopause and the menopause within manageable levels. However, there may be times when your hormonal symptoms become so severe that your state of mind, emotional integrity, energy reservesand quality of life is seriously affected. It's during these times that prescription hormones become advisable BUT synthetic hormones (HRT) are associated with increased risk of hormone related cancers. However, there is a new dawn for women's health as private Doctors start to realise that bio-identical hormones deliver all the benefits of synthetic hormones with fewer risk factors. Susie is a passionate advocator of embracing a natural menopause and hosts Women's Health Clinic Days with Dr Hall making prescriptions for natural bio-identical hormones (oestrogen, progesterone, testosterone), a natural alternative to HRT, available and affordable in our little corner of Sussex.
